If you love baseball, you will enjoy “The Color Line on the Baseball Diamond”, a program about the era of segregation in America which kept Black players out of the Major Leagues. It will be held on Wednesday, February 13th at 7 p.m. in the Cranford Community Center and will feature Dr. Lawrence Hogan, the author of The Forgotten History of African-American Baseball. Dr. Hogan will talk about Jackie Robinson and others who broke the color barrier. A veteran Negro Leaguer will join him and author Kevin Kane will read his poem “KC at the Bat,” a Black rendition of the famous poem.
The program is made possible by a subsidy from the New Jersey Council for the Humanities.
